Molecular Physiology, Cell and Functional Biology Laboratory V
None
Molecular physiology. (A) Developmental physiology of butterfly wing color pattern formation, focusing on bioimaging of live wing tissues. (B) Real-time evolution, focusing on phenotypic plasticity and environmental factors. (C) Biological impacts of the Fukushima nuclear accident, focusing on the field effects of radioactive pollution. (D) Protein/proteome bioinformatics, focusing on extraction of specific sequences and their functions.
Areas of research: Real-time in vivo imaging of butterfly pupal wing tissues; Phenotypic plasticity in butterfly wing color patterns and butterfly larval body colors; Analyses of butterflies and their host plant in radioactively contaminated areas at the levels of DNA, genome, and metabolome; Characterization of human-specific or SARS-CoV-2-specific amino acid sequences.
We are looking for people who like living organisms and who have a broad array of interests ranging from molecules to ecosystems.
